The Extended Intro Course

Course Overview

This extended course builds on the introductory seminar in Bowen Family Systems Theory, continuing a theory-first, discussion-based approach to understanding human behavior, relationships, and emotional functioning as part of natural systems.

Participants will deepen their understanding of how emotional processes operate across generations, with particular attention to one’s own family system as a context for learning. The course emphasizes observation, reflection, and conceptual clarity, rather than technique or clinical application.

This offering is designed for those who have completed an introductory experience in Bowen Theory and are interested in a more sustained, personally engaged exploration of the concepts.

If you have not completed the introductory Bowen course but feel drawn to this learning format and would like to explore whether it’s a fit, please reach out to Arthur Zipris at (zipris@nb.net) for a conversation. We welcome inquiries from anyone who’s ready to engage with their own family system in this process-oriented, experiential way.
