Addresses skill requirements for not-for-profit supervisors and managers in family serving agencies.
The Effective Supervisor addresses the skill requirements for not-for-profit supervisors and managers in family serving agencies. Supervisors from clinical program practice and those who work in a general support function within the agency benefit from the skills and concepts presented during the program.
The Effective Supervisor consists of eight modules. Each module focuses on a proficiency area in supervision. The modules address skill areas of training, coaching and feedback, communications, motivation, setting work standards, evaluating performance, managing self and team, and interviewing and selection. Participants learn experientially through self-assessments, interactive learning events, and application on-the-job. As participants progress through the program, they learn different supervision techniques, tools and strategies. The program provides participants with a tool kit they can use on the job.
The Effective Supervisor’s team of facilitators (The Training Delivery Team) comes from member agencies. Each facilitator brings years of field experience as well as skill in training and development.
All newly hired and promoted supervisors. In addition, those associates interested in preparing to take leadership position in the agency would benefit from the training.
