The Training Collaborate accomplishes this through its mission of “ ...delivering effective competency-based training for family-serving agencies.

CRITERIA FOR NEW MEMBER AGENCIES

We encourage other agencies to join the collaborative.
Your agency fits our criteria if it:

  • Holds non-profit status
  • Provides child welfare and mental health services
  • Employees at least 50 people
  • Holds current licensure in good standing
  • Agrees to sign a 3-year contract
  • Commits to providing quality services
  • Provides access to internet and computers for staff
  • Commits to joining Essential Learning ( web based training system)
  • Agrees to Western Pennsylvania Family Center(WPFC) managing the project
  • Agrees to send participants to training at WPFC location
  • Participates in research to demonstrate value of training
  • Participates in future grant requests
  • Maintains cooperative and noncompetitive spirit with members of collaborative

SUPPORT FOR COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS

  • Sends all new clinical staff and supervisory personal to programs
  • Incorporates competencies and values learned in programs into work plan and evaluations
  • Identifies internal people to become trainers based on agency size guidelines
  • Supports in-house trainer certification process
  • Reinforces, recognizes and validates “trainers”
  • Participates in annual recognition luncheon
  • Provides staff for focus groups, curriculum development, and planning activities
  • Supports other agencies’ training programs
  • Shares training calendar

LEADERSHIP IN THE COLLABORATIVE

  • Identifies 2 representatives to attend monthly Executive Meetings
  • Attends monthly Executive Meetings
  • Demonstrates courage to change organization
  • Demonstrates willingness to innovate
  • Integrates training into organizational culture

ADMINISTRATION IN YOUR AGENCY

  • Includes training collaborative as a line item in yearly budget
  • Pays fees on time
  • Participates in a timely manner in evaluation process (financial, assessment data)
  • Commits to improvement and constant assessment of collaborative processes
  • Pays equivalent to investment
