Western Pennsylvania Family Center

WPFC Faculty:
The Western Pennsylvania Family Center was founded by six professionals all trained in family systems theory. In fact, four of the founders gained first hand knowledge of Bowen theory both in Pittsburgh and by training with Dr. Murray Bowen at the Georgetown Family Center in Washington, D.C.

WPFC FoundersWPFC is now comprised of twelve faculty members, including the six founders, all of whom are available for training and individual coaching in Bowen family systems theory. The faculty also consult with individuals working with families and with organizations and other professional practices.

Faculty members are noted for their involvement in scientific presentations and national conferences and symposia sponsored annually by the Georgetown Family Center. They also serve as editorial consultants to a national publication produced by the Georgetown Family Center, the only journal of its kind focusing on Bowen family systems theory.

In 1996, WPFC shifted from a volunteer executive director to a paid administrative infrastructure consisting of an administrative director, a faculty director, and an office manager, enabling the Center to devote greater efforts to developing linkages in the community to better accomplish the mission and to increasing our operating revenue.
